A window code taped over with corrections
The QR code in the shop window still points to last year's price list, because whoever made it used a free trial that expired after three months. A hairdresser reprints table cards for the same reason: the code worked fine in the office and not from two metres away under a spotlight.
What the tool does
Jobbit's guide to a QR code that never expires explains it plainly: the generator makes static codes only, meaning the link is baked into the pattern rather than routed through someone else's server. Paste the link, choose where the code will go, window, counter, card or packaging, and pick a style, plain black, your logo or a brand colour, and the form turns those choices into a PNG and an SVG that never expire, with print size advice attached.
Free QR code sites, compared
| What you need | Typical free site | Jobbit |
|---|---|---|
| A code that never expires | Bitly's free tier leads with dynamic codes on a trial | Every code is static |
| Print-ready files | Canva and Adobe Express export inside a design | PNG at 1000px or more, plus SVG |
| Logo in the code | A paid feature on tools such as QR Code Monkey | Attach the logo on the form, no extra cost |
| What happens after | The site's job ends there | The same chat builds the sign, the page, the invoice |
Three steps for a window code
- Decide the destination first, a page on your own site rather than a menu PDF that will move.
- Paste the link into the QR code generator, choose "poster or flyer" for a window, and pick plain black or your brand colour.
- Print one proof at roughly a tenth of the scanning distance, a code read from two metres wants to be about 20 centimetres, and test it with two phones before the whole batch goes to print.
Where the free tool stops
Jobbit's free plan gives 100 credits a day with no card, which covers a shop's QR codes for weeks. It stops being enough once you need the hosted page the code should point to built and kept up to date, rather than a page you already run yourself, and that is where a paid plan or a proper website job takes over from the free form.
